Outcomes Measurement

How do we know we are putting our dollars where there is the greatest need? How do we know that our funding dollars are truly making a difference within the community? How can this type of information be used to improve our fund distribution process?

Outcome Measurement enables an organization to understand how well it is helping clients and to gauge long-term tangible results of its efforts and programs. This information enables an agency to motivate staff and volunteers; will provide agencies with information to improve their services, thereby helping even more members of our communities; and will provide an organization with tangible evidence of its impact within the community, which can in turn be shared with donors and funders to strengthen their commitment.

United Way for the City of Kawartha Lakes is working with a collaborative of two United Ways in Central East Ontario: Northumberland United Way and Peterborough and District United Way. The latter is the lead agency and the project has been generously funded through the Ontario Trillium Foundation.

To date the following organizations have completed the Outcomes Measurement Training and are engaged in full Outcome Measurement implementation:

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kawartha Lakes-Haliburton

Boys & Girls Clubs of Kawartha Lakes

Canadian Mental Health Association

CNIB

Community Care City of Kawartha Lakes

John Howard Society of Kawartha Lakes & Halburton
